They may be the Sideshow at School, but they're the B Team of our hearts

This is the University of Delaware Ultimate B team, so ultimate in fact that the B stands for best. Known only as "Sideshow", these foul mouthed quad-limbed gymnasts moonlight as, and I cannot stress this enough, amateur ultimate players. Playing in a competitive Atlantic Coast region, they have garnered such accolades as "second" and "fifth" at regionals, but sadly declined their bid and graciously allowed UNC to take their place. Either that or they meant B-Team regionals which would make more sense but wouldn't be nearly as cool.

These two fine gentlefolk are the Sideshow B coaches Matt Norden and Ryan Cox, affectionately known as "shavey" and "beardey" by their players. Norden is a grad student by night and a vigilante by day, so in between his impressive 26 hour a day schedule he works in some creative advice during practice. Ryan is a recent college graduate who enjoys long walks on the beach and even longer walks to and from tournaments because Ryan refuses to every be in a motorized vehicle. We reached out for comment, but Ryan has already begun his 530 mile trek down to South Carolina for High Tide, so we should be able to speak with him sometime in June.

Without a doubt the team Captains are Dan "Veggie" Jahnsen, Tom "Snaps" Harmon, and Ben "No Known Nicknames" Staud. Without them Sideshow would be rudderless, but with them it has three rudders, which is useful for when you need to steer three times as well. In addition to these gymnastics professionals, Sideshow Ultimate B Team features the incredible talents of many different players, including Junior Handler Chris Remley, who laughs well and throws even better. With an impressive second place finish at their last tournament, one place ahead of their initial third seed, Sideshow Ultimate B team hopes to win first place at B team regionals for the first time since 2014. In 2014, I was trying to figure out how to get flappy bird back on my phone, so we can all agree that they were more impressive then and are probably more impressive now.

If Sideshow Ultimate Team that is the B team to the other Ultimate team at Delaware were a food, they would be a Pokebowl, because if you leave them out in the sun for too long, they become smelly and extremely dangerous to eat. Also at least 20% of their players are fish, and a further 50% are rice. Plus their throws are very saucy. The team food however is not Poke, because that would be cannibalism. Rather, they air on the side of a cook out tray because it is the "best and cheapest fast food". Also, if you leave a cook out tray in the sun for too long it becomes smelly and extremely dangerous to eat.
Although B Teams sometimes get short shrift, Sideshow B has a ton of fun and loves playing together. A key part of the UD ultimate community, Sideshow B spends a bunch of time with the A team and the Women's team. They also get to play some very exciting games against top level B teams from across the country, such as Pitt or UNC. Also their twitter game is fire. Everyone should retweet their tweet about casting nationals because its funny and the worlds a better place when Ultimate Frisbee doesn't take itself too seriously.
Love this team, Love Ultimate, don't particularly love the state of Delaware though.
